For decades, the National Library of Malaysia (PNM) was seen as a quiet, traditional space — rows of bookshelves, hushed conversations, and the faint scent of old pages. But that image is rapidly changing. Today, PNM is on a mission to redefine what a library can be, embracing virtual reality, holograms, and interactive technology to become a vibrant hub of digital learning and cultural exploration.

When Budget 2026 was announced, the headlines sounded optimistic. "Doctors get 40% on-call allowance hike!" "Healthcare sector strengthened!" It almost felt like Malaysia was finally rewarding its overworked medical frontliners. But talk to anyone actually in the system — doctors, nurses, pharmacists, or even IT professionals who support hospital systems — and you'll hear a different story. Because when you look closer, that "40% raise" isn't the victory it's made out to be. It's a mirage.

When we talk about digital marriage (or virtual marriage, online wedding), we mean a marriage ceremony and registration process conducted (at least partially) over digital means — video conferencing, electronic forms, and remote officiation — rather than everyone being physically present in a courthouse, shrine, or venue.

As we wave our flags high and sing "Negaraku" in unison every 31st of August, Merdeka is not just a time to reflect on our past struggles for independence — it's also a moment to pause and ask: Where are we going next as a nation?
