Coolify’s Holo Fans Bring Holographic Visuals to Your PC Setup

If you're looking to take your PC aesthetics to the next level, Coolify's Holo Fans may be the perfect upgrade from traditional RGB lighting. First introduced last year, these fans offer a unique holographic display experience—without sacrificing cooling performance.

Floating Holograms Powered by LEDs

The Holo Fans use a ring of 96 LED lights to create eye-catching, floating holographic visuals. Unlike standard lighting effects, these aren't just static images—users can project animated graphics, short videos, logos, GIFs, and custom slideshows, adding an extra layer of personal flair to their PC build.

You can check out the LinusTechTips review for an in-depth look at how the visuals work in action.

Sizes, Control, and System Integration

Coolify's Holo Fans are available in 120mm and 140mm sizes and come with a dedicated controller for managing visual content. One of the standout features is the fan's software integration, which allows users to sync animations with system metrics or set up real-time alerts and notifications—ideal for streamers, content creators, or anyone who wants dynamic, functional flair in their setup.

Performance and Limitations

To maintain the hologram effect, the fans run at fixed speeds—1,500 or 2,600 RPM—ensuring image clarity and smooth visual output. At 2,600 RPM, the fans deliver 52 CFM airflow and 2.75 mmH₂O air pressure, while keeping noise levels at a modest 33 dB(A). That makes them suitable for both gaming rigs and workstation builds.

However, they do draw a fair bit of power. Power consumption ranges from 2W to 6W per fan, and can peak at 10W, especially when multiple fans are running. Coolify advises users to ensure their system can handle the extra load.

Another minor drawback is the requirement of a companion app to upload and manage the visuals—potentially a downside for those seeking a more plug-and-play experience.

Availability and Price

Each Holo Fan is priced at US$45.99 (~RM204), but due to high demand, availability may be limited. It remains to be seen whether holographic displays will become a lasting trend in PC customization or if they'll simply be a flashy novelty—though for now, they're certainly turning heads.
