Apple is Furious at EU Laws for Turning iPhones into Potential Porn Machines!

Apple just went off on the EU's Digital Markets Act after—wait for it—the first-ever porn app landed on iPhones in the region. The app, cheekily named Hot Tub, made a splash thanks to AltStore PAL, a third-party app marketplace that only exists because of EU regulations. Now, thanks to this loophole, iPhone users in the EU can browse and stream adult content from multiple sources, and Apple is not amused. Guess the walled garden just got a little steamy!

The developer of Hot Tub is out here claiming the app is Apple-approved, but Apple is calling BS on that. According to the tech giant, apps on third-party stores in the EU go through malware and compatibility checks, but that doesn't mean Apple gives them a gold star for quality or functionality.

And Apple isn't holding back. In a statement, a spokesperson basically said:

Apple insists it would never allow Hot Tub on the official App Store and is only letting it exist because the EU forced them to. They're pointing the finger at the European Commission, saying they raised concerns way back in December, but the regulators didn't seem too bothered. Oh, and guess who's backing AltStore? None other than Epic Games—Apple's courtroom arch-nemesis. Yep, the same Epic that's been fighting Apple over App Store rules and fees across multiple countries. Now they've got their own third-party app store for iPhones in the EU too.

Meanwhile, Apple's been on a no-porn policy since the App Store launched in 2008. But critics aren't letting them off the hook so easily, pointing out that iTunes sells movies with nudity, and, oh yeah—Safari can access literally any adult site. So, is this about protecting users, or is Apple just mad that their walled garden is getting some, uh… new landscaping?
