Because if scammers love wasting people's time, why not return the favor?
In a world where scammers lurk behind every random WhatsApp message claiming you've won a mysterious lottery or inherited money from a long-lost prince, one Singaporean genius, Dylan Tan, decided enough was enough. Instead of just blocking and reporting these scammers, he built an AI to waste their time. Meet SOHAI: Scammers On Hold AI.
And yes, we know what SOHAI sounds like in Singlish. That's the point.
What is SOHAI?
SOHAI is a WhatsApp bot designed to engage, frustrate, and confuse scammers until they give up. Built using the same AI agents that power Replyr's business automation tools, SOHAI turns the tables on scammers by keeping them endlessly occupied.
Imagine a world where scammers are too busy arguing with an AI auntie to trick real victims. That's exactly what SOHAI does.
How It Works
Using SOHAI is as easy as sending a scammer on an infinite wild goose chase:
- Receive a scam message? Or see an ad that smells fishy? Simply pass along SOHAI's number: https://wa.me/6588591998.
- Madam Soh takes over. SOHAI pretends to be Madam Soh, a blur but talkative AI auntie who will keep the scammer engaged with nonsense responses, endless excuses, and wild digressions.
- Follow-ups included. If the scammer stops replying, SOHAI will even message them back, just to be extra annoying.
- Track the chaos. Every scammer interaction is logged into a leaderboard on Google Sheets, documenting the amount of time wasted, the scammer's tactics, and SOHAI's best time-wasting strategies.
- One less victim. Every minute a scammer wastes with SOHAI is a minute they don't spend scamming someone real.
Why It's Brilliant (and Hilarious)
Scammers rely on efficiency. They throw messages at thousands of people, hoping someone will fall for their tricks quickly. But when SOHAI gets involved, suddenly they're stuck in an infinite loop of nonsense:
- "Sorry ah, my nephew say need to restart the WiFi before I can send money. You wait ah."
- "Can use ATM to withdraw Bitcoin or not? I only have POSB."
- "My cat walked on my phone and now I can't find the send button. Can guide me step by step?"
Some scammers even get so frustrated they give up. Imagine making a scammer rage-quit. That's SOHAI's specialty.
Get Involved
Dylan Tan built SOHAI as a public service, because the best way to fight back against scammers is to waste their time as much as possible. And the best part? It costs you nothing. If you ever get a scam message, don't just ignore it—send them to SOHAI: https://wa.me/6588591998. Let's make scammers miserable, one pointless conversation at a time.
